Last week I took the boys to a family owned pumpkin patch here in Duvall. I was so excited that they could go and see where pumpkins actually come from (What? Not Safeway!). So when we got there I noticed the hand painted sign that read "You Pay By The Honor System Here" along with a scale, calculator and a coffee can. That's right folks, you go pick your pumpkin, weigh it, do the math and put your money in the can. Carson was a little confused, where was the man, the cash register and the machine where you swipe your card? Ah! Small town life I just love it sometimes! It was a good chance to talk to Carson about being honest and choosing to do the right thing even when nobody is watching. I know not all businesses can be run this way, but it was refreshing to know that someone had faith that people would be honest. It made me want to do the right thing.
